Black Horse Trails

Our rides venture under the canopy’s of Blue gums, between the endless rows of pines and into the cool damp of the mystical indigenous forests in the Wilderness National Park where bird and animal life is abundant. The Knysna loerie, many species of raptors, monkeys, baboons and bush buck are commonly sighted on our trails.

We can take groups of up to six people, if one in the group is experienced; five in a group if all are beginners.

1½ Hour Ride

This ride ventures into the shimmering blue gum and pine plantations, and does a nice circuit before returning home. The earth is nice and soft for the horses hooves and some of the long straight tracks are perfect for a head-clearing, cheek-flushing canter or gallop.

3 Hour Rock Pool Ride

This is by far our most popular ride, venturing through the tall mossy pines then deep into the cool magical indigenous forests of the Garden route national park, alive with bird calls, hanging roots, toadstools and streams. We stop and rest at the waterfall where you can sit by the rock pools to enjoy your snacks and cool drinks. In summer the water is perfect for a lovely refreshing dip.

Special Occasion Rides

This ride is perfect for honeymoon couples, proposing gentlemen, anniversary celebrators, birthday surprises and anyone just wanting to treat their loved one. This ride follows the same route as the 3 hour ride , but on this ride it is only the trail guide and yourselves so as to create a more intimate experience. You also have longer to enjoy your partner's company and a picnic.
