Embracing the southern bank of the Bitou River in Plettenberg Bay, Emily Moon River Lodge is a small, exclusive Lodge With accommodation for just twenty guests and four children. There are two family units each having a separate room for two children.

Each luxurious suite is a separate lodge for two people, with their own sitting areas, private viewing decks and spacious, fully appointed bathrooms.The most perfect accommodation in Plettenberg Bay for all who wish to escape to the peace and serenity of nature.

mily Moon River Lodge is owned by Mark and Christine Valentine. Mark, a leading dealer in African artifacts, has filled the restaurant, sun deck and ten luxurious lodges with treasures he has collected from across the continent of Africa, as well as beautiful objects from India.

The lodge is run by a team headed up by Simon & Di Valentine, whose sole purpose is ensuring that guests are well cared for and leave determined to return. They will see that every day is an experience!

Eugene, Emily’s charismatic chef has a passion for fresh flavours which is reflected in the eclectic menu which changes daily. The restaurant is a fun vibey venue for lunch and warm and romantic by night. The exotic ambience, the food and incredible view make this one of the great meeting places of Africa.

Directions to Emily Moon River Lodge Plettenberg Bay Accommodation

From Cape Town via George and Knysna to Emily Moon River Lodge:

(6hrs drive)

Follow the N2 highway East from Cape Town towards George and Port Elizabeth. Pass the town of George and continue on to Knysna. Drive through the town and leave Knysna on the N2 highway towards Plettenberg Bay.

On reaching Plettenberg Bay you stay on the N2 highway, passing the Shell Ultra & Engen Petrol stations. After passing the Goose Valley golf course on the right you will see a signboard for Mallard River Lodge/Emily Moon River Lodge. Turn left at the "Rietvlei" road sign (Penny Pinchers Corner). Follow this road to the end, approx 1.4km’s, where you will find Emily Moon River Lodge/Mallard River Lodge .

From Port Elizabeth airport to Emily Moon River Lodge:

(230km, 2½ hours drive)

At the airport turn left onto the Alister Miller Road, which turns into Third Avenue. You come to a T-junction and you turn left onto Heugh Road, which later becomes Buffelsfontein Road. Look out for signs to the N2 highway and turn RIGHT onto the William Moffett Expressway. This road leads you directly to the N2 highway and you turn left onto the highway to drive towards George and Cape Town. Time permitting you may like to visit the Tsitsikamma region en route.

Continue along the N2 to Plettenberg Bay. About 5km from Plettenberg Bay you cross the Keurbooms River Bridge and after another 1km you cross the Bitou River Bridge. After another 1km you will see a signboard for Mallard River Lodge/ Emily Moon River Lodge and Rietvlei.

Turn right at the "Rietvlei" turn off 200m further on. Follow this road to the end where you will find Mallard River Lodge/Emily Moon River Lodge.
