Outeniqua Power Van has been offering enjoyment for young and old, individuals, families, corporate groups, locals and overseas tourists since February 1999 and operates according to rail safety regulator guidelines.

It accommodates special groups (min. 12 people) for special occasions or functions and operates throughout the year, six days a week. With the sunny Winter climate in George our customers can explore the beauty of the route throughout the year.

Outeniqua Power Van can make many trips in a day subject to sufficient support.

  • From the N2 take exit 437 "N9, N12 George / Oudtshoorn" and turn left at the end of the ramp
  • After 4 km turn left into Mission Road
  • The Outeniqua Railway Museum is the seond on the right. The Outeniqua Power Van operates from here.

From Port Elizabeth

  • From the N2, after ascending the Kaaimans River Pass, keep to the right signed "George, Oudtshoorn, Uniondale" and continue straight onto the N9
  • After 4 km turn left into Mission Road
  • The Outeniqua Railway Museum is the seond on the right. The Outeniqua Power Van operates from here.
